“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
1 Peter 4:10
Stewardship is based on the spiritual principles of the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels. When stewardship has been implemented, both the givers’ and the receivers’ lives have been changed. Stewardship is a way of life, a way of thanking God for all His blessings by returning a portion of the Time, Talent and Treasure that is allotted to us in our lifetime.
Stewardship involves the choices we make every day: how we spend our time; what we do with the skills and talents God has given us; how we care for the environment; and what we do with our money. Your stewardship defines Blessed Sacrament Church. Your volunteer efforts drive our church ministries and define our community of faith. Your contributions are our primary source of income.
As you reflect upon the abundance God has given you, how might you generously share that abundance with your Parish community? As you review the materials in this Stewardship Appeal, pray and listen for God’s response. We invite you to discern how to actively participate in our worship, and how we provide service to other. Your contributions of Time and Talent can be identified on the Stewardship Commitment form here.
When it comes to TREASURE, making a commitment to pledge a specific financial contribution for the coming year helps us prepare an operating budget to finance our work in an organized and realistic way. Some Catholics choose the biblical norm of giving 10% of their treasure (known as tithing) to the Church. Some give more. Others might start at 2-5%. For those who are able, please prayerfully consider increasing your regular contribution. We invite you to give prayerful thought to the amount you should give to Blessed Sacrament Church. When you know in your heart that you have been completely honest with yourself and with God, then your contribution is the right amount to give.
We are asking you to pledge your contribution to the 2020 Stewardship Appeal by designating the amount and frequency of your donation. Contributions may be made through the envelope system or electronically through our online giving program, “WeShare.” “WeShare” is a simple, safe, and convenient way for you to make and manage your offerings to Blessed Sacrament.
When you donate online, you give your support to the Parish consistently throughout the year, even when you’re not able to attend Mass. This form of support is most helpful as we are better able to manage our funds and pay our bills in a reliable manner.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has placed considerable financial strain on all of us, including our parish. Please remember that while our lives and routines are being disrupted, parish expenses and bills continue as normal. We assure you that we will be extra-careful with our spending during this time of crisis, but please keep in mind that Blessed Sacrament is entirely dependent on your continued generosity. You can make your financial pledge by clicking the TREASURE Form here.
Together, we would not be able to do all that we do, or do what needs to be done, without your gifts of Time, Talent, and Treasure.
Thank you for all you have done for our parish in the past and all you will do in the future. Let us pray for each other.
